Happy summertime from the Shrub Oak Admissions team! We hope this finds you all well and enjoying the warmer weather and longer days that summer brings. We certainly are here at Shrub Oak! Campus is in full bloom; the courtyard fountain is spouting sparkling, clear water into the air; and, most importantly, our students are smiling, making friends, and continuing to learn and grow.

June brought mixed emotions, though, as we bid farewell to students who have completed their journey with us. We recently celebrated their accomplishments during our Spring Sendoff Celebration. The day included favorite field day games including a football throw and water balloon toss, and culminated with a celebratory barbeque in the courtyard. Highlights included warm sentiments expressed by students to one another: “You’re my best friend!” and a heartfelt, poetic tribute delivered by one of our transition coordinators.

We are very excited to welcome several new students to Shrub Oak this summer. Coming from across the U.S. and around the world, we are certain they will bring a dynamic energy and new perspectives to campus. We continue to focus on developing a diverse community so that our students have an opportunity to learn as much from one another as they do in the classroom.

Our first two speaker series presentations were a great success. As a community resource, Shrub Oak strives to offer relevant information to families, educators, and clinicians. Our next presentation, The Importance of a Neuropsychological Evaluation for a Child with Special Needs, will take place in the fall. Stay tuned for more information!

On a very fun note, we are hosting our first Fall Festival on Saturday, September 21!! This family-friendly event will take place on campus and feature all the fun a fall festival has to offer: games, rides, food, and friends. We hope to see you there.

In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. We are a 12-month program so will be here throughout the summer and do offer rolling admission. We’d love to see you on campus.

Wishing you a wonderful summer!

With warmest regards,
