Sandpoint, Idaho - Fenton R. "Pete" Talbott has
been appointed chief executive officer of The Brown Schools,
Inc. and subsidiary corporations operating CEDU emotional
growth programs.
Talbott is chairman of the board for The Brown Schools and
will continue in this role. He is replacing Bob Naples.
Talbott has had experience in a broad array of organizations,
both domestically and internationally, large and small, corporate
and entrepreneurial over a 40 year career. Most recently he
was operating director with McCown De Leeuw and Company, a
private equity firm. Talbott was executive vice president,
Community Banking at Comerica Bank; senior vice president,
Financial Products and Services at American Express Corporation;
managing director and head of administration and operations
at The First Boston Corporation; executive vice president
and head of Global Consumer Markets at Bank of America; president,
chief operating officer, and board member at the John B. Coleman
Company. Previously he held various positions from vice president
to senior vice president at Citicorp/Citibank and various
financial analysis, controllership, and management positions
at Ford Motor Company.
Talbott received a BA and an MBA from the University of Kansas.
He and his wife, Judy, have four children and four grandchildren
and live in Bedford, N.Y. He is a Trustee of the University
of Kansas Endowment Association, serves on its development
committee, is a member of the Business School Advisory Committee,
and the Chancellor's Club Advisory Board. Talbott sits on
the boards of the following companies: Preventative Medicine
Research Institute, Stonemor Partners, and Tarp, Inc.
CEDU Education's boarding schools, therapeutic wilderness
program, and transitional living programs in California, Idaho,
and Vermont accommodate the diverse needs of families searching
for solutions for a child struggling academically, behaviorally,
and/or emotionally. The company has a 38-year history of helping
families in crisis. Through subsidiary organizations, The
Brown Schools, Inc. also operates alternative education programs
for local governmental entities in Texas and Florida.
