Meadows Hospital is “not just a hospital, it is an environment
dedicated to helping patients restore their health and get
a fresh start.” They offer their services to children, adolescents,
and adults on an inpatient and outpatient basis, using a
team of professionals comprised of board-certified and child-trained
physicians and master’s-level clinicians for every treatment
program. Meadows provides same-day assessments and recommendations
to individuals and families at both their Bloomington and
Terre Haute locations, available 24 hours a day, seven days
a week. Referrals for a free assessment may be made by family
members, friends, physicians, mental health professionals,
educators, and other community professionals. Their “team
of competent and compassionate mental health professionals”
is available for assessment and treatment recommendations
for emotional problems relating to: substance abuse, suicidal
thoughts, depression, child and adolescent behavioral problems,
psychotic episodes, anxiety and panic disorders.
Meadows offers personalized care and a wide array of behavioral
health services and programming to address and treat individual
needs, built on excellent communication among patients, their
families, referral sources, and our team of professionals.
Their Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient treatment
is based on “education about the disease, relapse-prevention
planning, and the 12-step principle of recovery.” They also
offer short-term, acute-care that includes daily visits with
psychiatrist, family therapy, 24 hour nursing care, group
psychotherapy, group psychoeducation, expressive therapy,
comprehensive discharge planning, court-ordered evaluations,
and substance abuse programs. Their Center for Adolescents,
ages 13 –1 7 provides adolescents and families with the help
for handling emotional pain, developmental struggles, depression,
substance abuse and dependency.” Another option, for children,
adolescents, and adults who experience clinical problems
that require daily intensive evaluation and treatment, is
their partial hospitalization program, which involves a treatment
program during the day, with the client returning home during
the evening. They also have a Center for Adults ages 18 and
over, that treats psychiatric disorders and/or chemical dependency
problems of all types, using an interdisciplinary team approach
to assessment and treatment.”
Meadows Hospital also encourages personal growth, offering
recreational activities designed to build self-esteem and
confidence. The beautiful location of the facility is the
ideal setting for educational outings, such as team-building
exercises, games, and sports. They also have an Alpine
Tower,
and an indoor climbing wall and gymnasium. Their operations
are fully accredited by the Joint commission on Accreditation
of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and their hospital is
also approved under Indiana’s Child Care Institutional
License for the residential care of children and adolescents. |
