THREE SPRINGS EXPANDS REFERRAL RELATIONS DEPARTMENT
(January 28, 2003) Tere Snodgrass, Referral Relations Coordinator, Three Springs, Douglasville, GA, 770-947-5444, announced they are expanding their referral Relations Department to the West. Jude Rudolph, based in Denver, Colorado, has joined the Three Spring’s team, bringing her twelve years of experience in adolescent treatment and a masters degree in Counseling Psychology.

BITTERROOT HOMESTEAD CELEBRATES THIRD YEAR ANNIVERSARY

They continue to hold their enrollment to 10 boys to assure the maximum amount of individual attention by their licensed counselors.

GRAND RIVER ACADEMY ON TRACK WITH 100% COLLEGE ACCEPTANCES
(February 21, 2003) Grand River Academy, Austinberg, Ohio, 440-275-2811 x 25, states their “senior class is on tract for 100% college acceptances with approximately $250,000 awarded in scholarships over a four-year period. The senior and post-graduate class for Fall 2003 is already closed. Their Summer Academy offers five and seven day boarding programs, June 22, through August 1, 2003.

GLENCAIRN IN ONTARIO EVICTED
(February 26, 2003) The Hamilton Spectator, in Ontario Canada, reports the school was evicted by a local school board for failure to live up to their end of the agreement in a lease agreement with an option to buy. On February 19, the headline was "Dunnville school faces eviction; private academy owes back rent to school board." On February 25 the headline was "Glencairn faces closure today over failure to pay rent," and on February 26, the headline was "Sheriff evicts school for struggling students."

TOBY MAUTZ PROMOTED TO CLINICAL DIRECTOR OF ASPEN ACHIEVEMENT ACADEMY
(February 27, 2003) Gil Hallows, Program Director, Aspen Achievement Academy, Loa, Utah, 800-283-8334, is pleased to announce Toby Mautz, LCSW has become their new clinical director, after Pam Parsons left that position to become the director/clinical director of the Achievement Academy’s sister program for young adults, Passages To Recovery. NATIONAL INSTITUTE AT LANDMARK COLLEGE
(March 8, 2003) The National Institute at Landmark College, Putney, Vermont, is offering professional development workshops for educators this summer that include workshops on academic coaching, study skills systems and effective classroom instruction for students with Learning Differences. They are also offering two web-based courses from March 24 to April 25, and are available to offer a variety of workshops at other facilities, by request.

CUSTOM YOUTH SERVICES VISITS WOODBURY REPORTS, INC.
Albert Johnson and Cynthia Stockton(March 9, 2003) Albert Johnson, owner of Custom Youth Services, LLC, Mitchell, Oregon, 541-462-3383, and Cynthia Stockton, agent, visited the Woodbury Reports office on Mar 9, to describe their transport service which has been in operation for the last six years. Albert is also a deputy sheriff in Wheeler County, Oregon. In addition to escorting youth throughout the country, he also tracks runaways from programs.

FRANKLIN ACADEMY OFFERS SUMMER SOJOURN 2003

LICHFIELD INSISTS DUNDEE RANCH ACADEMY NOT A BOOT CAMP
(March 14, 2003) Although the Utah marketing firm, Parent Resources, had web pages advertising boot camps that the San Jose, Costa Rica newspaper found to be located at the Dundee Ranch Academy facilities in Costa Rica, academy owner Narvin Lichfield insists his program Dundee Ranch Academy "is not a boot camp for troubled teens." Two web sites, 1-to-1-juvenile-boot-camps and basic-training-boot-camp-military-school, are registered on the internet by a Mr. Ken Wilson of Costa Rica. Lichfield says he is reworking the concept of "High Impact," stating, he “must have forgotten to tell Parent Resources the change of plans."

PULITZER PRIZE WINNER’S NEW BOOK PORTRAYS ACADEMY AT SWIFT RIVER STUDENTS
(March 19, 2003) David L. Marcus, www.DaveMarcus.com, Smith College, Northampton, Massachusetts, 413-585-3250, a Pulitzer Prize-winning writer and contributing editor for “US News and World Report,” took a leave of absence to write about American Adolescence. He is interviewed in two periodicals, “Knowledge Quest” (May/June2002, Vol. 30, No. 5), and “The Almanian” (Feb 28, 2003), about his experiences, which included observing 16 adolescents going through an emotional growth program at the Academy at Swift River. His book is scheduled to be released soon by Houghton Mifflin.
