Fire Misses Leavenworth
Property
Circle S Recovery Ranch has moved the major part of their
chemically dependent program to Valley Hospital in Monroe,
Washington, north of Seattle and West of the Cascade Mountain
Range, but have retained their property outside Leavenworth,
Washington on the East slope of the Cascades for the program's
wilderness expedition phases. They tell me the summer's forest
fires came close enough to have to evacuate one of their trips,
but everyone carried on and the forest fire missed the Leavenworth
property.
Provo Canyon Schools
Expands Admissions Dept.
Provo Canyon School in Provo, Utah, has expanded their admissions
department. It is now open on Saturdays from 9AM to 5PM MST.
Cynthia Hull has accepted the new Admissions Coordinator position,
moving over from the position of Marketing Coordinator. Marlene
Kendall has moved from another department to take on the position
of Marketing Coordinator. They will be working with Steve
Nielsen and Janett Benson, Provo Canyon's veteran Admission
Coordinators.
Royal Haven Reports
On Trout
Steve Gage of Royal Haven in Sisters, Oregon, says he and
the girls he has staying there pulled the weeds out of the
pond by his house. He claims the rainbow trout run up to 4
pounds and that dry dog food is what they bite best on.
Mt. Bachelor Admissions
Director Marries
Sarah Koalkin, Director of Admissions at Mt. Bachelor Academy
in Bend, Oregon, is marrying David Persha on October 8 in
Pioneer Park on the River in Bend. David is a general contractor
specializing in the restoration of historical buildings. We
wish them all the best! Hilltop, the CEDU program for students
ages 18 and older, has returned to accepting women in their
program. For the last year, Hilltop has been a males- only
program, but before that it was co-ed.
Non-Public School Status
Approved
CEDU's Academic Director Joyce Garrison, Ph.D. has been notified
that CEDU High School has been approved for Non-Public School
(N.P.S.) status by the State of California. "In order for
students to qualify, the school district of origin must identify
the child as needing special education services and agree
with parents that CEDU School is the appropriate placement."
Saul Rudman Has New
Position At CEDU
Saul Rudman's new position in CEDU Education is called Director
of Consultants' Relations. He has been with CEDU Education
for three years, previously Director of Admissions for CEDU,
CEDU Middle School, and Hilltop. His current job is to work
with Educational Consultants and other referring professionals
to help them better understand the system's family of services.
