Gabriel and Anne report that
as of late July, most of the students they have worked with
this year have had the following common denominators in the
scenarios:
- Adolescent autonomy issues.
- Poor choices made in search
of autonomy.
- Parent enabling of negative
coping strategies.
They report their emphasis has
needed to be the "educating of both adolescent and parent
to the essence of what it all means vs. the form: i.e. preconceived
ideas, all in all a practical approach to developing lines
of communication."
