With the slogan, "Saving Lives...One
Youth at a Time," Western Youth provides a two to one student-staff
ratio and emphasizes placing a child in a residential home
family environment where the children learn to live, work
and grow within a real setting. Treatment parents are screened,
selected and trained "to insure they have sufficient background
and practical experience in dealing with troubled youth."
They have "20 years of experiences in the field of youth development."
"All Western Youth therapists are licensed in their field
of expertise and each member of our treatment staff is certified
by the state of Utah."
The typical program is from 6
to 9 months in length for both sexes ages 12-18. Their philosophy
states that "quality treatment in a natural, warm setting
is the most effective way to create stable, positive life-style
changes in troubled teens. Building self-esteem through development
of values is a major and unique focus of each customized Western
Youth treatment program."
Each child's treatment is customized,
utilizing general treatment programs including Chemical Dependency,
Sexual Dysfunction, Self-Sufficiency Training, Group Therapy,
Individual Therapy, Recreational Therapy, AA/NA, Aftercare
Planning, and Intensive Monitoring.
