Sandy D. Gordon

Sandy Driver-Gordon is
an Educational Consultant/Advocate to families of children
and young adults with special needs. She has been case coordinator,
producer of educational program materials, and a presenter
of seminar training since 1980. Ms. Gordon has her own Educational
Consulting firm and is Director of Case Management at C.H.I.L.D.,
Clearing House and information on learning disabilities.
As part of her experience in
the human services field, Ms. Gordon served on a state commission
on Child Development. She is past President and a member of
the Los Angeles Convention Center Authority Commission; Founding
Chairperson for the Tikvah Program, a residential
Jewish summer camp for children and young adults with learning
disabilities. In 1986, she established Independence Center,
the first residential apartment living program for young adults
with learning disabilities on the west coast.
Ms. Gordon was instrumental in
the development of two child care centers and family day homes
in Watts and served as the President of the Neighbors
Of Watts, the organization that founded the center.
