Hyde School Develops Mission Statement
Hyde School, in Bath, Maine developed the following as a mission statement: "To provide a learning environment where individuals develop character and discover a deeper purpose in their lives. To be a model school community that develops citizens who will renew the American experiment in democracy."

Resident Mountain Man At Eagle Mountain Outpost
Bill Mossman, resident Mountain Man at Eagle Mountain Outpost in North Idaho, teaches native American history, philosophy and language. Bill, known as The Fox coordinates the annual Rendezvous at Cataldo Mission. "The Fox has come to be recognized as a national leader in the Rendezvous movement.

Program Changes At Rocky Mountain Academy
Rocky Mountain Academy has made two important changes in their program. Students have stopped meeting in the family structure, in which students progressed from one family to another during their stay at RMA, and are now divided into eight teams. What used to be referred to as families are now called phases. The student will stay in that team until they graduate. One objective is to assist the student in building stronger relationships. The other change was to drop the traditional schedule of a new class each hour, to a block curriculum which lasts all morning. The block system uses one period which lasts the entire morning which facilitates integrating subjects, and allows students to delve deeper into a subject area. It also makes field trips easier because there is no problem of coordinating with other classes the student is in.

Hope House Selected As The 706th Point Of Light For the Nation
Hope House, a Christian program run by Ms. Donnalee Velvick for developmentally disabled children in Nampa, Idaho (208) 466-4673, was given the honor of being selected by President Bush as the 706th Point of Light for the Nation on February 25, 1992
