Little Keswick School
(804) 295-0457
Keswick, Virginia
Director: Mrs. Terry Columbus
Founded in 1963 on 25 acres
in rural Virginia, Little Keswick School serves 30 boys (ages 7-16)
considered emotionally labile and learning handicapped. As one educational
consultant stated, "I am not sure whether I like the program more because
it is a school or a home. It certainly provides the best qualities of
both." It also has been referred to as an "extended family."
"When a boy lives with other
boys twenty-four hours a day, changes take place in that boy's understanding
of the importance of social interaction. He learns how to share; he
learns how to secure his rights through respecting the rights of others."
