Phoenix, AZ - Blueprint Education and Soltreks, an outdoor therapeutic
program provider, are excited to announce a new partnership that
will enable students completing Soltreks' adventure programs to
earn academic credits.
Soltreks is the only outdoor behavioral health program of its
kind in the Upper Midwest, serving teenagers, young adults, and
their families. Using its expertise in combining outdoor therapeutic
programs with academics, Blueprint Education has taken Soltreks'
unique content and designed a customized curriculum that offers
participants academic credits upon completion of a Soltreks program.
"Some of our students have academic challenges," states
Lorri Hanna, Founder, President and Executive Director of the
Two Harbors, MN.-based Soltreks. "With the ability to customize
and individualize their educational needs through our unique curriculum,
students learn to build upon their strengths while recognizing
their limitations, away from a traditional school setting,"
she says.
Soltreks' programs target teens and young adults facing challenges
with relationships, personal accountability, unhealthy patterns,
difficulty with decisions and transitions, loss and depression,
learning and attention, and low self esteem. To enable these young
people to find their natural talents and abilities while developing
better communication skills and self-confidence, Soltreks provides
several program services, including one-on-one treks; small group,
family and specialty treks. Programs are conducted at locations
near Lake Superior and the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, MN or in
the southwest.
Students completing Soltreks' programs will be able to transfer
their academic credits back to a traditional school, or they can
choose to continue their studies through the variety of distance
learning options available through Blueprint Education.
"Our curriculum was founded on the value of promoting health
and wellness by recognizing our students' individuality while
cultivating their physical, emotional, and creative self. What
an honor for Soltreks to be able to validate our unique facilitation,
and our students' efforts and accomplishments by granting academic
credit," states Hanna.
