Universal Health Services is pleased to announce the promotion of David Melear to the position of Chief Executive Officer at Provo Canyon School in Provo, Utah.  David will also oversee The Academy at Canyon Creek, a clinical boarding school in nearby Springville.  Prior to this role, David was the Chief Operations Officer at Coastal Harbor Residential Treatment Center in Savannah, GA.  Previously, David worked for Rivendell Behavioral Health Services in Kentucky for 14 years.

David has extensive education and experience in working with children and adolescents.  His BS and MA degrees are in the field of education with specialization in learning and behavioral disorders.  He has devoted his entire career to serving the educational and emotional needs of children through positions as teacher, mental health counselor and program director.  Those who have worked with David quickly notice his positive attitude, leadership and strong communication skills.  His education, professional experience and determination will serve him well as he leads Provo Canyon School and the Academy at Canyon Creek.
