Toronto, Ontario—Our Kids announces the Our Kids Private Education School Fair for 2006, the most successful school fair for private education in Canada since its inception in 2002. Making stops across Canada in Ottawa, Oakville, Toronto and Vancouver, British Columbia, the fair will draw thousands of families and a variety of private educational institutions in its 4-city tour from September to November.

Ottawa: Saturday, September 30, 2006.  11 a.m.-4 p.m.

Oakville: Sunday, October 15, 2006. 12-4 p.m.
Oakville Conference and Banquet Centre

Toronto: Saturday, October 28, 2006. 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

The Our Kids Private Education School Fair is the best-attended school fair in Canada, providing a unique opportunity to those attending to be able to explore a plethora of Canadian schools beyond the public education system, all in one place.  Families will be able to acquire information for each school as well as speak directly to representatives.  

According to the Ministry of Education, government spending on the public school system in Ontario is $17.2 billion, spread over 4800 elementary and secondary institutions.  This figure is still millions of dollars short of the ideal.  With government spending on public education limited, scrutiny over the academic standards and safety of public schools continues to grow.
