ODYSSEY WILDERNESS STARTS NEW SEASON

Tim Brockman, Program Director of Odyssey Wilderness Programs, announced the program is now officially open and ready to accept immediate placements of students. Odyssey closes each year for three months from December to February.

"Our winter was restful and productive, and we have some important news to report. On January 26, 2006, Odyssey received School Accreditation from the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools (NAAS). This enables us to offer school credit to our students in core subjects including P.E., Health, English, History and Science. Please contact us for more information on how our "Academic Track" will benefit students."

Tim added that he is happy to welcome additional staff to the programs as well as an in-depth psychological and psycho-educational testing option for students. "I look forward to working with all of the consultants and families this year. I would like to catch up with everyone and discuss a question we have been exploring. Why do educational professionals refer families to Odyssey? I do not want you to refer families to Odyssey because you have heard we do good work. I do not want you to refer families to Odyssey because your clients will sail on a traditional ship and learn about community. I want to work with you because you believe the Odyssey program provides a smaller more intimate alternative to the busy larger programs. I want you to refer families to Odyssey because you know the family will talk to a field therapist more than once a week, and that we work with the family just as much as we work with our students. I want you to refer your clients to Odyssey because you care about results."
