We are very proud to announce that the new Student Riding Program
is coming together beautifully! We expect to be completely operational
by February 1st, 2006. The student's anticipation is growing as
the Riding Program approaches completion! A barn is being built
on the Hidden Lake Academy campus which will hold four horses.
The barn conversion is almost complete at Mountain Brook Academy
which will hold eight horses. All twelve horses can easily be
used for activities at HLA. Just the right horses with very gentle
temperaments contusive to children and trained in Western Trail
Riding are being purchased.
This new program will give yet another great dimension to HLA's
current recreational program. Physically it will provide additional
student enrichment for balance, coordination and strength. Emotionally
it will develop self-esteem, confidence, communication skills,
trust, self-acceptance, respect and caring.
