Alarmed by such incidents as the Columbine shootings, many
parents are watching their teens more closely and intervening
earlier when they go off track… Lon Woodbury, a veteran educational
consultant in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, agrees: “Now, parents
are likely to catch the problems earlier.”
Other parents are turning to the Internet for help. Strugglingteens.com,
a Web site for families with troubled teens founded by Mr.
Woodbury… report sharp increases in usage in the past year.
Robin Gates, a purchasing manager for an energy company,
says replies to his message-board postings on Strugglingteens.com
helped him and his wife decide on a boarding school for their
son.
