Connections is a new program offered through Cedar Springs, designed for specialized residential treatment of children with attachment disorder. “One of few of its kind in the country,” it offers a holistic approach to children ages 4-16 and their families, including therapeutic, psychological and behavioral interventions. They “stabilize problem behaviors, educate families and caretakers about the sources of these behaviors and provide an intensive therapeutic program in a highly structured setting to establish trust, respect and healthy bonding with families and caretakers.”

The program is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including a psychiatrist, licensed therapist, and occupational therapist, nurses, special education teachers and mental health technicians, who are ‘specially trained’ to help these children and families. Dr. George Cresswell, M.D., the program’s medical director, has over 20 years of experience in treatment of children with attachment disorders.
