Wilderness Alternatives is a non-profit organization that raises funds to support partial scholarships for families of adolescents and young adults who would be best served by a wilderness program. The company is publicly supported through tax-deductible donations and serves those families who demonstrate a financial need for a scholarship.
The scholarships generally cover 50 percent of the costs of placing a child in a wilderness program, but in some instances, 100 percent of the costs are awarded. Wilderness Alternatives strives to help adolescents or young adults who are experiencing problems with substance abuse, behavioral, anger or adoptive issues and those with chronic medical conditions.
