Jan Rao, Ex. Dir. of Willows In the Wind and Carrrie Weatherhead, Administrator for SavingTeens joined Lon Feb. 20, 2015 to explain the Parent Support program they are jointly developing. Willows In the Wind has been offering parent support services for several years, and were asked by SavingTeens to help them develop a mentoring program for those parents looking for possible scholarship and partnership help for those children needing a therapeutic boarding school or wilderness therapy school or program. The purpose of parent support groups or programs is to have a place where parents can go for help when they are desperate and need something more intensive for their children. The system being developed by this collaboration is to support parents looking for help from SavingTeens and is a mentor based program where parents are matched with other parents who have gone through this heart wrenching search process of getting their children help.
