Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We are delighted to announce that Courtney Merrill, LMFT will be joining True North as Director of Admissions in April. Courtney has been a valued colleague for over a decade and brings an incredible wealth of knowledge and experience to this position. Many of you already know Courtney through her rich and diverse background. Courtney is a licensed marriage and family therapist and began her career as a wilderness therapist for one of the oldest and most respected wilderness therapy programs in the country. She later joined a highly regarded residential treatment center for adolescent girls where she was a therapist, clinical director and eventually the executive director. For the past four years, Courtney has been an educational consultant in the Washington, DC area with the School Counseling Group.

Courtney has always had an affinity for the wilderness. She believes in its power to open hearts and create space for change. She is passionate about her work with parents and young people who find their way to this adventure and she loves putting her assessment skills and natural empathy to the task in establishing strong connections with families in need of hope and direction.

Courtney's warmth, enthusiasm and experience will be a wonderful addition to our program. Courtney will work closely with Mike Balotti until he begins his new adventure in June. Together, we will continue to work towards our shared goal of providing the highest quality services to our families and referral sources. We anticipate more growth and development of services and our admissions department in 2015 and we know Courtney will be an integral part of that effort. Courtney will be attending the NATSAP conference in Nashville next week and we hope you will join us in welcoming Courtney to our team and celebrating this next step in her professional journey.

Warmly,

Ty, Mod, and the True North Team
