Greetings from the West Coast of Puerto Rico. As we transition into Fall and Winter, I wanted to update you on our program and services. We are seeking students graduating from Wilderness or Residential programs who need continued therapy and support to achieve independence, and those that have not found success at high school or college and need support and therapy to regroup and progress.

Here are some highlights:
  • 2 tracks, new College house. We have students in both the High School and College tracks, and we are painting and furnishing our new house for College students. The new house is next door to the "D" street house, and has the academic building in the back. This will offer college students a more independent living experience with 24-hour staff support next door. All students begin at the higher level supervision prior to moving.
  • Our High School program is moving students to graduation and helping them gain acceptance at college or technical school. We have a student who has joined the local swim team and will be competing in competitions throughout the island.
  • We have our first full-time college student attending Inter American University in Aguadilla. He is taking full credit

Students who are resistant to highly structured programs have chosen Puerto Rico as their best-worst alternative. The tropical location, Spanish culture, and community-based living allows students opportunities to continue progress while become a part of the local community.

As a small, growing program, we have the ability to provide individualized services to students and achieve specific outcomes. I certainly appreciate the support we have received from everyone, please keep us in mind if you have a client who is appropriate.

Point School is a unique residential community that assists emerging adults, aged 17 to 24 in their journey to independence. Through individualized educational services and strengths-based clinical coaching, students develop their identities and prepare for the future.
