Northwest Academy to Close

Bonners Ferry, Idaho

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Since our inception in 1994 Northwest Academy has provided older adolescents and their families with care, compassion, quality education and tools to provide opportunities for success in adulthood. Over the course of 24 years, hundreds of students walked through our doors, and graduated not only with a high school diploma, but with a better outlook on their future.

While we believe strongly in our mission to serve the specific needs of older adolescents, we are no longer able to attract a sufficient number of students in today’s treatment landscape who would benefit from this approach. It is with utmost regret and sadness that we announce that Northwest Academy will be closing its doors on September 26, 2018.

Although we are deeply saddened by this decision, we are grateful beyond words for our students, their families, our referral partners and dedicated staff who have chosen to make Northwest Academy part of their family over the years. We are extremely proud of our alumni and feel honored to have been a part of so many lives.

Our staff will work closely with Educational Consultants and parents to provide arrangements for our current students who will need further support in other programs, services or communities.

Whereas Northwest Academy is closing its doors, our sister school, Boulder Creek Academy, will remain open. Boulder Creek Academy serves a profile of student and family much different than that of Northwest, and enrollments at this school remain strong.
