Interview With John Winton

John Winton, Co-founder and Executive Director of Breakwater Expeditions sat down with Lon today and shared with him how his wilderness adventure program is progressing since its founding in 2010. John, who has been involved in wilderness/outdoor programs since the age of 10, knew this was his passion and learned about the power of nature and the power of a group has on the experience. John went on to receive his degree in Outdoor Education and was soon working with schools and programs across the US.

Breakwater Expeditions works with a wide range of different age groups, families and individuals and with various schools and programs in the area, often times creating a 'gap' program for students needing extra focus after completing a program.

"Our goal within the next five years is to collaborate with the best staff out there and create a new venue for them to work their 'specialties' with families and teens. It is important that the right people are in place for the upcoming years, because there are so many teens in need of this gap kind of program.

To sum up the past two years since its opening, John simply stated "it's been great!"
