Boise Girls Academy is the adolescent girls program of Teen Challenge Pacific Northwest. This 15 month Christian based, therapeutic boarding school is for girls, ages 13-17 who tend to make poor choices and are at risk with defiant behaviors that include lying, manipulation, stealing, promiscuity and rebellion. In addition to these behaviors, BGA works with girls who have issues with drug and alcohol use and abuse, self-harm, eating disorders, running away and low school attendance and performance.

Husband and wife team, Chris and Dawn Trivolis have been active with various Teen Challenge Centers for over 17 years, before taking on BGA. Chris is the Executive Director and Dawn is the Program Manager. Kathi Kreiner is the Academic Director and is also one of the teachers at the academy. Academics are accredited through Alpha Omega Academy which fills in as an online curriculum for the girls, in addition to academics taught at the school. Students have the opportunity to recover lost credits if need be and are accessed for an individual learning plan.

As each new student enrolls into Boise Girls Academy, they are paired with an on-site pastoral counselor, who is then also the contact person for the family. These counselors also provide weekly group sessions for the girls. Daily evening groups are staff facilitated to discuss relationship growth, positive peer influence, accountability, personal responsibility and conflict resolution. Each day begins with prayer and bible study as the girls learn to build their own relationship with God.

With the four distinct seasons of Idaho, girls at BGA can enjoy camping and hiking, skiing and water sports, in addition to on-site recreation: volleyball, track and yoga. Community service is part of the curriculum as is life skills, chores, arts and crafts and working in the garden.
