Founded in 1988, the Prescott House, Inc. is an extended-care treatment facility for men ages 18 and older, who have successfully completed primary inpatient treatment for a wide range of personal issues. They offer a four to six month program in a “supportive environment” that embraces the principles of 12-Step programs to treat alcoholism and other drug addictions, PTSD, codependency, sexual recovery, adult children of alcoholics, relapse prevention, depression, gambling issues and dual diagnosis.
Prescott House provides transportation to ensure the safety of the client.
Prescott House offers an independent living environment, and is able to house a maximum of 28 clients. The main facility has six common areas for peer group meetings, with a full kitchen where clients plan and prepare their own meals.
In addition to life skills, they provide psychiatric evaluation, medication maintenance, neuropsychological testing, nutritionist consultation and EMDR therapy (eye movement desensitization reprocessing.) The therapy component includes family therapy and individualized treatment plans with weekly group and individual therapy sessions. The program uses several treatment models to help the client “address his wounds” through mask building, gestalt therapy, artwork and psychodrama.
