Glenn W. McFarlane, of Billings has been named president and chief executive officer of Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, succeeding Ryland Sorensen who retired in February. McFarlane, a 16-year employee of YBGR, has served as the Chief Financial Officer since 1992. His appointment is effective immediately.
"Glenn McFarlane has been a dedicated and talented leader at YBGR for more than 16 years," said Ken Frazier, chairman of the Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch board of trustees. "His leadership skills and commitment to YBGR are evident and we are confident that Glenn will fulfill the mission of YBGR by serving children and families."
Prior to serving as the chief financial officer, McFarlane served as director of marketing, and previous careers involved financial services and healthcare. He graduated from Seattle Pacific University in 1972 with BA in Business Administration.
"I found my life calling working alongside the dedicated, caring staff at YBGR. I am humbled to be chosen to serve and will seek to model and teach our values of Faith, Hope, Integrity, Relationships, Respect, Safety, Stewardship, and Excellence," said McFarlane after his appointment.
YBGR will be celebrating 50 years of service to children and families over the next few months with several events planned in 2007. YBGR now serves over 650 youth per day in residential treatment, case management, therapeutic foster care, therapeutic family living, in-home and in-school services, community homes and independent living. YBGR and Yellowstone Academy employs more than 500 people in Billings and other communities in Montana.
