Camp E-Toh-Anee is a private, year-round, outdoor residential treatment program for boys ages 10-17, owned and operated by Eckerd Youth Alternatives. The name E-Toh-Anee means "He and I Together" in the Muskokee Indian language.
Established in 1986, E-Toh-Anee is one of 18 outdoor therapeutic treatment programs designed by Eckerd to help troubled youth. According to the program information, the primary focus is to help boys build self-confidence, develop respect for others, accept personal responsibility and make good decisions and reach their full potential through experiential learning.
At E-Toh-Anee, they believe there are eight essential elements for positive change that are key therapeutic components. These include strength-based focus, therapeutic environment, therapeutic alliances, therapeutic group living, individual treatment, safety, family services, and education and instructional approaches. Camp E-Toh-Anee has two adventure summer camp sessions set for July 10-23 and Aug. 7-20, 2005, for boys and girls ages 13-17.
E-Toh-Anee is nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation and certified by the NH Department of Education as a Special Education Program. The program is dedicated to serving New Hampshire youth referred by state agencies and school systems.
