Maple Lake Academy is a new residential facility specializing in the treatment of adolescent girls ages 13-18 with learning disorders and emotional issues. The program averages approximately 10-12 months, however, the length is determined by the individual needs of each student. Some adolescents may need to attend for a longer period of time. Enrollment into the Academy begins in June and July, and the admissions team is currently accepting names for their waiting list.
The Academy offers an “outstanding” academic program in conjunction with a clinical plan to address the emotional and behavioral problems that can attribute to or complicate the individual learning differences. The program is specifically designed to work with girls who are experiencing learning disorders such as, ADD/ADHD, dyslexia, asperger’s disorder, high functioning autism, dysthymic disorder, major depressive disorder, Bi-polar, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social phobia, oppositional defiant disorder and parent-child conflict.
The philosophy at Maple Lake Academy is to “address the needs of the whole adolescent with learning disabilities,” which includes encouraging the support and involvement of the family.
