It is with great excitement that we announce Woody Crowell has completed the transition from Business Relations and Development into the role as our new Program Director.

Woody has been a part of the therapeutic wilderness community for over 15 years, and has a tremendous amount of experience working with families and adolescents in crisis. Having spent numerous hours in the field working directly with guides and students, Woody is very proficient in the hard and soft skills necessary to make the experience as effective as possible.

Woody will work closely with our Clinical Director, Dr. Gordon Day, as well as the Aspiro field and clinical teams, to enhance our current experiential models, and to develop new experiential tracks that are rooted in the overall clinical philosophies and practices of Aspiro.

Woody directly oversees the recruiting of well educated, highly experienced, motivated Field Guides with mastery skills in adventure based therapeutic settings such as rock climbing, rappelling, mountaineering, mountain biking, skiing, and back country camping. Additionally, Woody is facilitating, along with the Aspiro clinical team, the creation and implementation of training and risk management systems based on industry best practices which allows us to quantify and formalize how our guides advance and grow personally and professionally while here at Aspiro.

Those of you who know Woody won't be surprised to learn that he is ecstatic to be back spending countless hours in the field working directly with the students and therapeutic field guides again. In his words, "I am back in my element!"

Please join us in welcoming Woody to his new role!

Regards,
Josh Watson, LCSW

Aspiro Group family of programs are based on a Wilderness Adventure Therapy (WAT) model. The Aspiro family of programs are a hybrid between traditional wilderness therapy, and adventure programs such as Outward Bound or NOLS.
