Darrell Green Youth Life Foundation

The Darrell Green Youth Life Foundation, a not-for-profit organization founded in 1988 by All-Pro Washington Redskins cornerback Darrell Green, provides after school and summer programs for youth ages 5 to 18 who live in insecure environments. There are currently five youth training centers that are located in Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Washington, DC.

The Foundation consists of Learning Centers equipped with qualified staff and adult volunteers who are committed to providing academic instruction and bringing value-based training to children. By identifying each child’s strength’s and needs, a comprehensive plan is developed to assist the child with math, reading, and other subjects as well as life preparation instruction. Parenting classes and family activities are also provided, and a “values-based” mentoring program pairs participants with caring adults who help the young person develop healthy skills necessary for them to develop into healthy adults.
