New Perspectives - July, 2002 Issue #95

eGetgoing™
San Jose, California
Greg Rupp – Director of Strategic Business Development

eGetgoing is the first online treatment provider, designed to deliver a new kind of outpatient group treatment that combines traditional group treatment with the latest Internet technology. It allows experienced counselors to help in every step of the way.

Helpful information about drugs and alcohol, signs and symptoms of addiction as well as the latest treatment options are offered on the eGetgoing website. It also provides confidential, free assessments online to help determine if there is a problem.

If there is, eGetgoing online alcohol and other drug treatment programs can help by offering immediate help for those in crisis, complete anonymity and privacy, and access from one’s home or on the road. It enables people to interact with their counselor live, onscreen, with videos to illustrate case ideas and feedback. It also allows a person to be able to hear and speak with their fellow group members.

The Primary Adult Treatment program consists of 24 focused group sessions that are held twice a week for 12 weeks that cover the essentials of initial chemical dependency treatment. The program is designed to help people regain control of their life. It includes 12 months of free, text-based aftercare, providing the necessary ongoing support to help a person stay sober. The Continuing Care Program focuses on relapse prevention.
