Woodland Hills Academy
is a new private residential treatment center for 16 girls, ages 12-18. Licensed by the State of Utah Department of Human Services,
Woodland Hills is able to accept young women who are dealing with a variety of issues and identity crises that require special therapeutic
services, and will accept girls who are pregnant.
Woodland Hills offers a strong therapeutic environment with an emotional growth curriculum. Girls live in a highly structured living
environment and learn to develop their life skills. Group, individual and family therapy is offered. Crisis intervention and immediate
placement into an individualized program is also available. Parents and family are encouraged to participate in their girl’s experience.
Values are taught by the staff and reinforced by the environment of the on-site school. Woodland Hills’ staff uses the treatment theory
that ‘consequences for non-compliance need not be, and should not be, punitive.’ The program is characterized by ‘concern, support,
assistance, and counseling, and all else that is possible to assist the young women internalize belief in themselves and high values.’
Woodland Hills is located in the southern foothills of the Wasatch Mountains overlooking Utah Valley.
