Dragonfly Adventures offers a variety of adventure trips providing
“safe, high quality outdoor experiences that emphasize personal growth, education, and respect for self, others and the environment.”
Several trips go out throughout the year, including sea kayaking, rock climbing, backpacking, camping, snorkeling and cultural excursions,
many in Mexico, Africa, and Alaska.
They offer: Family Adventures, multi-generational experiences allowing
families to spend quality time together, away from everyday routines; Custom Adventures, providing outdoor adventure education tailored
to specific needs of groups from boarding schools, colleges, therapeutic programs, youth groups, or corporations; and Leadership Adventures,
which emphasize outdoor skill development and leadership training. Course topics include: group management, conflict resolution, problem
solving, team building, judgment, communication, self- confidence, responsibility and motivation of others.
Glenn White has a BA in Education and Outdoor Recreation, with over
fifteen years experience leading wilderness trips throughout the US, Mexico, and Africa. He has extensive experience working with
troubled adolescents in the wilderness, and has designed and implemented adventure programming for college students, corporate management
teams, high schools and the general public. Mona Treadway has a BA in Human Development and Wilderness Leadership, has ten years working
with the National Outdoor Leadership School, Prescott College, Pacific Crest Outward Bound and Adventure Quest, and has has worked
with women survivors of breast cancer, and Native Alaskan teenagers dealing with substance abuse. All staff members are Certified
Wilderness First Responders.
The lessons learned on a Dragonfly Adventures trips “are easily
taken home and used in everyday life. Time is spent learning about the environment through which they travel - the geology, the local
cultures, flora and fauna, tides and weather.”
