The Brown Schools at Cedar Springs, part of the Cedar Springs Springs Behavior
Health System, Inc. offers four residential treatment programs. They are described as follows:
“Mountain View Place I is a locked, medically based program that provides
comprehensive treatment, with specialized family/caregiver services for children, ages 6 – 8. The program is housed adjacent to the
acute inpatient program, which permits availability to the highest level of staffing at all times. The average length of stay is 80
days.
“Mountain View Place II is a locked, social model program for females only,
ages 6 – 18. We provide individualized, comprehensive treatment for girls who have a psychiatric diagnosis with severe behavioral
problems. Specialized family/caregiver services are a major component of this program. It is adjacent to the adolescent acute inpatient
program, which provides immediate availability to our highest level of staffing. The average length of stay is 6 months.
“Behavioral Intervention is a secured program based on a social, cognitive
rehabilitative model that employs a positive peer culture. Services include Southgate School and individual therapy. It is for adolescent
males only, ages 12 – 18, with an average length of stay of 22 months.
“Threshold is a secured social model program for male juvenile sex offenders
for the treatment of sexual problems requiring long-term intervention, based on a cognitive rehabilitative model that employs a positive
peer culture. Services include Southgate School and individual therapy. We offer a transition component, housed in a separate cottage,
to junior and senior level residents who have earned a higher level of privileges. It is for Adolescent males only, ages 12-18. The
average length of stay is 22 months.
“The Southgate School is a year-round school that emphasizes behavior management;
self-control with improved academic and improved social skills. Special coordinated efforts are made with caseworkers and caregivers.
Student to staff ratio is 8:1. Staff includes Colorado State Special Education Certified teachers, master level therapists and mental
health workers. This school provides year-round education for all programs listed above.
Cedar Springs Behavioral Health System, Inc. offers a full continuum of care
that is flexible and cost effective. Clients are able to enter treatment at the level of care most appropriate for them. We accept
most insurances, are JCAHO accredited, and CHAMPUS approved.” They accept referrals and self-pay clients.
