THE BROWN SCHOOLS BUY CONTROLLING INTEREST IN CEDU

On July 31, 1998, a final agreement was made to combine The Brown Schools, headquartered in Austin Texas, and the CEDU Family of Services, headquartered in Monterey, California. The full statement by both organizations is posted on Woodbury Reports Online. The CEDU Family of Services consists of six schools in North Idaho and Southern California, and has been a pioneer since the late sixties in Emotional Growth Education, a popular and successful alternative approach to working with troubled children. The Brown Schools were founded in 1940 and own and operate many treatment centers throughout the country, but especially in the South.
