CHANGING DIRECTIONS
Summer Program sponsored by The NorthStar Center
Jeannie Crowell and Jane Stewart
Bend, Oregon

A Summer Adventure Honoring Young Women, Changing Directions consists of six weeks of personal growth challenges for females ages 14 years and older. It is designed for women seeking a safe place to take a time-out from their usual activities and desire to spend a summer increasing personal understanding, self-respect and self-awareness.

Step-by-step, young women develop the strength and insight to take control of their lives, regaining personal power. In addition to living in a structured environment where emotional development is nurtured through individual and group counseling, our young women also participate in these exciting activities:

14 Day Wilderness Trek
3 Day Personal Growth Workshop
Community Interaction & Outreach Projects
Health & Body Awareness Education Week
Family Interaction Workshop
Graduation Ceremony
Follow-up during the upcoming year.

It is an all female staff who are trained professionals with bachelor & master degrees in psychology and education. It also includes young women from last year's program coming back for the summer to share their experience and knowledge through internship positions.
