CEDU Now Has Seven Programs
With the addition of Boulder Creek Academy in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, (A school of children who require more "nurturing in a less confrontational
setting"), the CEDU Family of Services now number seven programs.
Position Filled at Oasis Academy
Suzi Asay has accepted a position of Professional Relations at Oasis Academy, "A Private School for Adolescents for Educational, Emotional
and Behavioral Problems" in Provo, Utah. Suzi had previously been with Heritage Center, also in Provo.
Hyde School Faculty Traveling
Hyde School, in Bath, Maine has had faculty members doing a lot of traveling in facilitating parent retreats in fifteen different
regions. During Spring break, Headmaster Malcolm Gauld was speaking at various gatherings in Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle,
and Vancouver, B.C.
Turn-About Ranch Reports On Insurance Companies
Turn-About Ranch in Escalante, Utah reports the following Insurance Companies have covered part or all of their program cost: Aetna,
Blue Cross of Oregon, Blue Cross of Michigan, John Alden Insurance, John Hancock, Farmer's Insurance, American Psyc-management/BCBS,
Guardian Insurance, First Health, Health Net, Sun Health and Prudential.
Workshops Planned For Upcoming Conference
Archie Buie reports plans for 24 workshops at the first National Therapeutic Wilderness Camp Conference to be held in North Carolina
in late May.
New Additons At Provo Canyon School
Provo Canyon School, in Provo, Utah moved into a 93-bed facility on an 8-acre apple and cherry orchard. The new campus houses their
Girl's Programs and also their Early Adolescence Program. They also anticipate completion soon of the new 64-bed addition to the Provo
Campus which houses the Boys' Programs.
Rocky Mountain Academy develops Alumni Service
Sydne Van Horne, formerly Director of Parent Communications/Resources at Rocky Mountain Academy, will be developing and coordinating
an alumni service. "The alumni organization is directed to parents as well as to former students. We hope to be of assistance to families
in transition from Rocky Mountain Academy, assistance in coordination of support in their own geographic areas and assistance in a
consistent exchange of current information about former students and staff." This will include a newsletter and Sydne will be available
at 208-265-8298 from 8am to 3pm Pacific time on most Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Western Youth Acquired By Youth Services International
Western Youth, an adolescent treatment program in Orem, Utah has been acquired by Youth Services International, Inc. with Corporate
headquarters in Owings Mills, Maryland.
