Cherry Gulch is a high-quality ranch-style therapeutic boarding school for 10 to 14 year-old boys. The school is located in a beautiful setting near Boise, Idaho.  We are seeking applications from dedicated and highly motivated individuals with a can do attitude interested in joining our team. Cherry Gulch is a therapeutic school dedicated to skills building and enhancing the lives of boys in need.  We are seeking accomplished candidates with a track record of success in a therapeutic school environment.

Candidate must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills, highly honed written and verbal communication skills, and a warm, empathic yet firm disposition.

Candidate should be familiar with and espouse a strengths based perspective to positively impact student’s social, emotional, and academic growth.

Candidate will be responsible to create and maintain the proper environment, motivation, and guidance for at-risk middle school boys allowing them to enhance their self-confidence, social abilities, and academics leading them towards a successful and productive future.

Qualifications:

  • Idaho Teacher Certification
  • Bachelor degree required in area of Mathematics
  • Experience in Science, an added plus
  • Bilingual, an added plus
  • Special Education Certified, an added plus

Expectations:

  • Design and deliver class instruction through the development of instructional plans to meet course competencies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build successful relationships with student population
  • Outstanding conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated time management and detail-oriented skills
  • Collaborate with other professional staff
  • Establish and maintain standards of behavior
  • Evaluate & record student academic growth, behavior & peer interactions
  • Supervise students in out-of-class activities
  • Utilize appropriate assistive technology to support student learning
  • Enjoy working with teenage boys
  • Ability to develop and complete projects without continued direct supervision

Salary: 35 to 50K depending on education and experience.  Plus Benefits.
