Daniels Academy is a small, home-style residential program and accredited high school in Heber, Utah. We provide sophisticated clinical and academic support to adolescent males age 13-18 with impaired social development. Many of our students have been diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome, Non-Verbal Learning Disorder, or as having similar cognitive and academic profiles. Daniels Academy believes in addressing each student individually and strongly emphasizes the integration of meaningful relationships coupled with clear and concise expectations, and dependable routines and structure.
Program Therapists provide group and individual therapy for 7-9 residents. They provide weekly treatment updates and family therapy with parents/families as well as in-person family therapy sessions during parent visits and tri-annual family weekends. Therapists work closely with educational consultants, home therapists, and other providers to support student growth and achievement.
Daniels is a small program and we are able to provide the kind of care we do only because of our ability to work as a close team. We are a group that communicates regularly and values being able to support one another, even if it means stepping outside of our traditional roles at times. Although therapists have their own caseload, we work as a team and all have therapeutic relationships with the students. Aside from weekly treatment team meetings, therapists are closely involved in the day to day interventions of coaches and support staff. Therapists are also expected to manage their own schedule, work independently, and fulfill documentation requirements.
Candidates should be licensed clinicians in the state of Utah (or able to be licensed) and have at least one year of experience working with neurologically atypical and learning-disordered adolescents. The position is full-time and may require after-hour time commitments as our clients and their families receive 24/7 support; therefore, flexibility is essential.
Salary is competitive and dependent on experience and education. We also offer insurance benefits and the potential for a four day work week. We work hard, but value and protect one another’s time off-campus.
