Shawn Bradley as Vice Principal

Former NBA Player Shawn Bradley Takes on a New Roll as Vice Principal at West Ridge Academy.

Starting in January Shawn Bradley joined West Ridge Academy as the new Vice Principal. This is quite a change from his former career as center for the Dallas Mavericks. Shawn and his family moved to Utah at the beginning of the year. He visited West Ridge Academy a few months earlier and was "bit by the bug" as we call it. After touring the campuses and learning about our program he felt like he had something to offer our youth. He had retired from the NBA a couple of years ago and was looking for an opportunity to do something where he could make a difference in people's lives. We feel very fortunate to have him on board.

The first time you see him you're in awe because of his 7'6' stature, and watching him duck under doorways to enter a room. The youth here are still in awe, not because of his size but because of the way he interacts with them and because of his big heart. They know that he cares about them and they look up to him in more ways than one.
