RIDGE Mountain Academy is a gap year enrichment program designed for student athletes interested in strengthening their training, developing new skills, and discovering their passions prior to entering college. It is located on a 16-acre campus in Whitefish, Montana, only minutes away from Glacier National Park and a small mountain town, Whitefish Mountain Resort
Essie Roberts, Administrative Manager, has a B.S. in Entrepreneurial Studies from Babson College and is a Level III USA Hockey Coach. Jordan Fiorillo Scotti, Educator, received her M.A. and PhD in Psychology from the University of Montana (UM). Her work includes intake assessments to identify student academic strengths and weaknesses and progress monitoring of student skill development.
Christy Ewing, Health & Wellness Coach, is an ACE-certified Health Coach and Personal Trainer, Wellcoaches USA-certified Wellness Coach, and a current Graduate school student working on her Ed.S. in Professional Counseling.
RIDGE Mountain Academy accepts young women and men between ages 17-20 who are student athletes that are passionate about mountain sports or traditional sports. Currently it is taking applications for the Winter/Spring and Fall semesters, 2015 and 2016. It has a number of coaches for different sports as well as a teaching staff. The academy is an alcohol, tobacco, and drug free campus and program, and it enforces a zero tolerance policy. Its Health and Nutrition program is able to customize dietary needs. The academy makes arrangements for sick or injured student athlete to get access to excellent medical care in Whitefish and the Flathead Valley. Tuition is comparable to ski academies, prep schools, gap year programs, and small private colleges. Currently, it does not offer financial aid.
