Allynwood Academy Closing

Dear Colleagues,

After much careful consideration and review of our ability to provide the level of service that we believe our students and families deserve, and the financial realities that we are facing, Allynwood Academy will be closing effective August 8, 2014. We wanted to let you all know first, and we will be informing our parents tonight and students tomorrow morning. We need your assistance to help our parents find alternative placements for our current students. We will be providing our parents with a list of educational consultants and we thank you in advance for helping them through this difficult time. We wanted to make the decision now so that students could start in other schools by the end of August/beginning of September.

The leadership team at Allynwood remains deeply committed to the 35+ year mission and the very positive effects we saw over the past year with our students as we made the transition to Allynwood. We are exploring re-organization options in a new location and so I hope to stay connected and involved in some capacity with you all going forward, I want to thank you all for your help and support through the years. I'll remain available by email and phone for the foreseeable future.

I am glad to talk to you about any student you have currently enrolled or have a pending enrollment this month. If you can't move your student quickly, please contact me as we will have some skeletal staff available to care for them and are addressing each student individually.

Please know that the students and families are in our prayers and have our best wishes for continued growth as they make this change.
