1st Annual Southwestern Adolescent
Conference
Over 200 professional counselors and health providers attended the 1st
Annual Southwestern Adolescent Conference held January 24-26 in Tucson,
Arizona, hosted by Sierra Tucson Adolescent Care Center and the National
Prevention Task Force. (See the next issue of Reports for a review by
Educational Consultant Bryan Bates of Flagstaff, Arizona).

Dave Goodwin Developing Navajo
Pines
Dave Goodwin, a therapist who
has worked with Cross Creek Manor and Provo Canyon, is developing Navajo
Pines, an outdoor residential treatment center, located outside LaVerkin,

Jane Stewart to Oversee Northstar's
Apartment Living Phase
As of January, Northstar, working
with students age 18 and older in Bend, Oregon, had 10 students in the
Common House and were starting to implement phase 2, the apartment living
program. Jane Stewart, former Admissions Director for Mount Bachelor
Academy, will develop and oversee the apartment living phase. The new
business number for Northstar is 503-385-8657.
Tuttle/Gundry School Starts Internationally
Focused Newsletter
The Tuttle/Gundry School and
Program representatives have started an international focused newsletter
concerning international students and English as a Second Language (ESL)
programs.
Tom Carlson, MSW, Joins Shamrock
Educational Alternative
Tom Carlson, MSW, joined Shamrock
Educational Alternative outside Spokane, Washington. Owner Brian O'Donnell,
referring to their "Reality Based" philosophy, says "it is essential
that our boys stay in a community atmosphere in which appropriate behavior
is both modeled and expected."
New Psychiatrist at Cross Creek
Manor
Psychiatrist Delbert Goates,
MD, is now working with Cross Creek Manor in Utah.
